Morgan's Place kittens

In the following, we will explain at best our breeding philosophy both concerning matings and kittens placement. Please, read carefully and feel free to contact us for every other detail about these topics.

Morgan’s Place adheres to the italian initiative devoted to stop the illegal importing of puppies and kittens from East Europe named Pet Shops? No Grazie!.

At the moment, we have not kittens available. If cats agree, we are planning to have a litter in autumn/winter.

From the birth to 3 months of age

Our females deliver not more than 3 litters into 2 years, for giving them an adequate resting time between consecutive litters.
We are particularly careful with kittens socialization, a process that will allow them to become trusty and lovely adults with people.

Since socializing a kitten is a process that requires the breeder spends how much time he can with each kitten, we try to have just one litter a time, in order to concentrate ourself at best and to allow kittens to share with us and with the other cats all the available space and time.

Please, take into account that breeding is not a matter of gaining money for us, it’s not a professional job; we are not interested in selling how many kittens as possible, and we do not sell a kitten to anyone, just because “he/she pays”. In our mind and heart, breeding is a passion and a mission and the most important thing is finding for each kitten a lovely, reliable, good home that we select with great accuracy.
For this reason, if you decide to write us an e-mail for a first contact, please tell us something about you, about your choice of a Maine Coon, where the kitten should live, if there should be other cats/dogs etc. The idea is to help us in understanding your motivations, so that we could suggest you which kitten is the better for you, both from a behavioral and esthetical point of view.

The kitten’s bag

You will be allowed to bring your kitten to his/her new home at 12 weeks of age and he/she will followed by:

  • microchip and passport including deworming, 2 x vaccinations, and antiparasites medications
  • FIFè pedegree, transfert and a written contract;
  • recent negativity tests about PKD, HCM, FIV-FeLV of both parents (screenings and DNA);
  • 1 CD of the pictures taken during his/her first 3 months of age;
  • a guide about basic dietary rules of the kitten

Pet vs. breeding quality

We invite you to consider that, as breeders, our main interest is to build along the years a cat genealogy of high temper, health and standard quality, carrying our name. Thus for us..

... giving a kitten for breeding purpose doesn’t mean applying a higher price than the one applied to a pet. Rather, each kitten will be evaluated as possible breeding cat if and only if he/she shows adequate qualities of temper, health and standard. Thus, the kitten establishes his/her quality, not viceversa

In any case, we generally prefer to give cats for breeding purpose to experienced people in which we trust and with which we share a common etic and breeding goals.
Thus, except for the kittens mentioned above, pets and show quality kittens will be sold with the Not For Breeding clause on their pedegree and we expect by written contract that they will be neutered around 1 year of age.
